As a part of the Pacific Region in InterVarsity, Sacramento Urban InterVarsity is committed to pursuing reconciliation and justice across racial and ethnic and cultural lines, among other areas. One of the starting points in the journey is to celebrate who God created us to be as people of every ethnicity and culture. To help that process, we have ethnic identity conferences which creates safe spaces. We don't stop there... All of our ethnic identity groups come together for a conference called RECON. These are incredible gifts to the students and InterVarsity chapters as we seek to pursue wholeness and a picture of the diverse Kingdom that's described in Revelations 7:9-10:10
After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count,
from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb.
They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands.
10 And they cried out in a loud voice: "Salvation belongs to our God,
who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb.”
Pacific Region Ethnic Identity Conferences have not been in person since 2019. Future conferences will be listed here, along with registration details.
